Job summary

ACT Steelworks is looking for a Project Manager to lead major water infrastructure initiatives from initiation to delivery at our Beresfield Service Centre, initially focusing on Sydney Water projects. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong stakeholder management and a proactive approach to risk, cost control and programme delivery.

The position offers hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days in the office, a 3-month initial contract and an hourly rate of up to AUD 95.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in project management within an industrial, mechanical, engineering or utilities environment
• Strong contract administration and commercial management capabilities
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, reporting and claims
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for project outcomes
• Mechanical industry experience
• Water utilities experience
• Pump industry experience is highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Manage project documentation and document control processes
• Generate, coordinate and track QA documentation
• Support safety compliance and project documentation requirements
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor project costs
• Manage monthly progress claims and substantiation
• Prepare delay notifications and contractual claims as required
• Coordinate subcontractors and monitor performance
• Ensure supplier compliance and onboarding requirements
• Develop and maintain project programmes and schedules
• Support mobilisation planning, including accommodation and logistics
• Provide contract administration and commercial support
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients
• Collaborate closely with internal operational and technical teams

Project Manager – Beresfield

Beresfield, NSW | Up to $95 per hour casual | Hybrid working available | 3‑day part‑time

Our client is a well‑established leader in the mechanical services sector, delivering complex projects across water utilities and industrial environments. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Manager to join their Beresfield Service Centre.

This is a hands‑on role that will suit a driven and capable project professional who enjoys taking ownership, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring successful project delivery from initiation through to completion.

About the Role: Reporting directly to the Service Centre Manager, you will play a key role in the delivery of major water infrastructure projects, with an initial focus on Sydney Water projects while also supporting the delivery of other client works as they are secured.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project documentation and document control processes
• Generate, coordinate and track QA documentation
