Job description

With several treatment plant projects entering the delivery phase across regional Southeast Queensland, SRG Global is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in water and wastewater treatment facilities to support projects in the Sunshine Coast region.

As Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of these projects, working closely with the broader project team to drive performance across project delivery, commercial and financial outcomes, contract management, stakeholder engagement, resource planning, risk management, and safety.

A key requirement for this role is experience delivering projects within water treatment and sewage treatment plant environments. We are looking for a leader who understands the complexities of working within operational treatment facilities and can apply that expertise to infrastructure upgrades, remediation, and asset protection projects that will strengthen the region's drinking water network and support future growth.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll lead project delivery from planning and mobilisation through to handover and closeout, working collaboratively with the broader project team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead project delivery, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Lead the delivery of works associated with water treatment plants and treatment infrastructure.
  • Manage project budgets, margins, forecasting, cost control and overall financial performance.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to protect profitability and achieve strong commercial outcomes.
  • Manage contracts, variations, claims, procurement and subcontractor performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the client, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the project team.
  • Manage workforce, plant, equipment and subcontractor requirements.
  • Lead project planning, programming, risk assessments, methodologies and mobilisation.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities to keep delivery on track.
  • Monitor project performance against scope, program, budget, quality and contractual requirements.
  • Work closely with Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors and the wider project team to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead project and client meetings and provide clear updates on progress, risks, financial performance and opportunities.
  • Ensure safety, quality and environmental requirements are maintained throughout project delivery.
  • Review and adapt construction methodologies where required due to design, site conditions or program changes.
  • Lead project handover, defect management, lessons learned and final closeout activities.
  • Prepare and present accurate weekly and monthly project reports covering project performance, risks, opportunities and financial status.
About You

You'll ideally bring:

  • 5+ years' project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering water and/or sewage treatment plant projects or works within treatment facilities.
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills, including budgets, forecasting, cost control, variations and claims.
  • Experience in contract management and commercial strategy.
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading project teams and managing project resources.
  • Strong risk management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • A sound understanding of construction principles within a multidisciplinary contracting environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
