Job summary

A civil construction firm in Cairns is looking for a project manager to lead on-site operations for government infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience and strong leadership skills. This permanent position offers training opportunities and competitive remuneration in a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management.
Experience with Government infrastructure projects is an advantage.
Ability to manage WHS, quality, environmental, and community relations.

Responsibilities

Plan and direct all works on site necessary to deliver projects.
Provide leadership to project teams.
Report daily activities as per project specifications.
Report daily site activities as required by project specifications and company plans.

Job description

To plan, and direct all works on site necessary to deliver the project, including plant, equipment, labour, materials, subcontractors and any other resources. At HEH Civil you will be working in small teams with other top-level experienced staff. This is a permanent role based in Cairns with opportunities for ongoing training and promotion for the right person, and an exceptional remuneration package on offer.

Demonstrated ability to provide confident and competent leadership to a project through positive communication.
Excellent communication skills with liaising with the management staff to ensure delivery of all projects safely, cost effectively, on time and on budget.
Proven ability with the management of all WHS, quality, environmental management, and community relations issues on all sites.
Demonstrated ability in reporting of all activities that occur on site each day, as required by the project specification and company quality, OHS and environmental plans, policies and procedures.
Ability to ensure safety, quality and environmental matters are compliant.

Applicants are not required to have a degree in Civil Engineering however a degree would be highly advantageous. A Minimum 5 years’ experience is necessary and Government infrastructure project management experience is an advantage.
