Job summary

HEH Civil is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our FNQ operations in Cairns. You’ll operate excavators across civil infrastructure projects, with final trim excavation ability essential. You’ll work alongside a supportive team that values safety and professionalism.

Projects may be based in Cairns or up to four hours from the area. Hours are generally Monday to Friday with longer days at times and some weekend work on away projects when needed.

Qualifications

• Final trim excavation ability is essential.
• Construction White Card is required.
• GPS/laser system experience is preferred.
• Experience operating other plant is desirable.
• HR licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators for trenching, bulk earthworks, detailed excavation and final trim works.
• Complete final trim excavation safely and accurately to project requirements.
• Work around existing services, levels and site constraints with care.
• Operate other plant where experienced and ticketed, including compactors, loaders, trucks and other civil plant.
• Support pipe crews and general civil construction works as required.
• Complete daily pre-start checks, routine maintenance checks and report any faults or hazards.
• Follow site plans, levels and supervisor instructions.
• Work collaboratively to meet project targets and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
