MSS Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager for Northern NSW (Ballina) on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role is hybrid, combining client-site work with remote coordination.

Projects range from refurbishments and upgrades to structural, roofing, and civil works in the aged care and retirement living sector, with values between $100,000 and $500,000. You will lead multi-site delivery and drive safety and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• PM/Construction Manager experience, preferably in aged care/retirement living.
• Degree or Diploma in Construction Project Management preferred.
• Trades background or builder’s licence preferred.
• Proficient in MS Project, Pronto, Procore, Cubit and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead refurbishment projects from inception to completion.
• Oversee budgets, timelines, and resources for multiple sites.
• Ensure safety and building codes compliance.
• Maintain strong client relationships with regular updates.
• Coordinate site supervisors, tradespeople and subcontractors.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Position: Project Manager – 6 months Fixed Term contract
Projects: Northern NSW (Ballina)
Location: Hybrid – Work from client sites and remotely from home

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple construction projects across Northern NSW, Ballina.

Projects range from refurbishments and upgrades to structural, roofing, and civil works, with values typically between $100,000 and $500,000, all within the aged care and retirement living sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage refurbishment projects from inception to completion.

• Lead and manage refurbishment projects from inception to completion

• Oversee project resources, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful delivery

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards

• Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular project updates

• Supervise and coordinate site supervisors, tradespeople, and subcontractors

• Prepare project quotes using estimating software such as Cubit

• Create and manage project plans using MS Project

• Review project scope, schedule deliverables, and estimate costs

• Manage all onsite and offsite construction activities, ensuring compliance with building and safety regulations

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying and securing future work opportunities

• Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring effective programme management

• Manage project schedules, financials, risks, and work health and safety (WHS) on-site
  

REQUIREMENTS

• Prior experience as a Project Manager, Construction Manager, or in a similar related role, preferably within the aged care sector.

• Project Management qualification highly preferred – Degree or Diploma in Construction Project Management.

• Background as a tradesperson or possession of a builder’s licence (preferred).

• Proficiency in using MS Project, Pronto, Procore, Rapid Induct, Cubit, and SharePoint for job management.

• Valid driver’s licence and full working rights in Australia.

• Ability to obtain a police clearance.

• COVID-19 vaccination and willingness to receive an annual flu vaccination.
