Job summary

AGL Energy in Traralgon VIC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver complex mining and power generation projects. You will build relationships, manage stakeholders and align engineering, operations and commercial inputs to safe, practical outcomes.

This role requires engineering qualifications and proven PMP-level project management experience in heavy industry. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, develop plans, monitor risk, and present investment cases to drive value while

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent trade qualification in electrical, mechanical or civil.
• Proven project management experience in mining, heavy industry or a complex operational environment.
• PMP certification or equivalent is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes on time and within approved budgets.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, procurement and resource requirements.
• Define project objectives, scope and deliverables.
• Monitor project performance, identify emerging risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation and recovery strategies.
• Communicate project status, decisions, risks and issues clearly to frontline employees, technical specialists, contractors, project sponsors and senior leaders, adapting the message and level of detail to the audience.
• Coordinate engineering, operational, commercial and contractor inputs, translate complex technical information into clear project decisions.
• Prepare and present project investment cases, recommendations and approval materials that clearly explain value, risk, options and proposed outcomes.
• Conduct regular project reviews and ensure compliance with governance requirements, project methodologies, safety standards and relevant technical obligations.
