Job summary

AEMO’s System Design division is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Future Energy Systems to lead strategic programs supporting Australia's evolving energy system. You will partner with technical experts and stakeholders to plan, coordinate and deliver projects across multiple offices, contributing to the energy transition.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects or programs, ideally within energy, infrastructure, utilities or similarly complex environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships and drive alignment across diverse teams and competing priorities.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and navigating organisational complexity to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear project plans and decision-ready communications for varied audiences.
• Proficiency in project governance, reporting and use of project management tools such as Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of complex programs and projects, managing scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies and governance.
• Partner with engineers, operational teams and stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into practical delivery plans and measurable outcomes.
• Build strong relationships across AEMO and industry, proactively engaging stakeholders, navigating competing priorities and driving alignment.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver key initiatives, ensuring milestones, decisions and actions are progressed effectively.
• Prepare clear project reporting, communications and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings that establish clear outcomes, accountability and next steps.
• Adapt to changing priorities and ambiguous environments while identifying opportunities to improve project delivery, governance and ways of working.
