Job summary

Aequalis Consulting Pty is seeking a switched-on Project Engineer for a full-time, permanent role based on a FIFO roster from Brisbane to the Surat Basin. This position involves delivering high-impact petroleum and civil infrastructure projects with a tier-one aligned contractor in Queensland.

You will oversee project engineering from mobilisation to completion, develop schedules and forecasts, manage subcontracts, and coordinate with site teams to ensure safety, quality, and environmental

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (civil/mechanical/electrical) or equivalent required.
• 2+ years’ experience in construction, oil & gas, or civil infrastructure.
• Strong planning, communication and site coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project engineering from mobilisation to completion.
• Develop and maintain construction schedules, trackers and forecasts.
• Manage subcontracts and procurement processes.
• Interpret drawings, specs and plans, identifying and resolving any technical issues.
• Monitor project risks, costs, and compliance across safety, quality, and environment.
• Work closely with the engineering manager, site teams, and other stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship and coordination for site engineers where required.

We’ve been exclusively engaged on a highly confidential infrastructure project in Queensland and are seeking a switched-on Project Engineerready to step up in a fast-paced, technically complex environment.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based on a FIFO roster from Brisbane to the Surat Basin, working with a tier-one aligned contractor known for delivering essential energy and infrastructure solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Oversee project engineering from mobilisation to completion

Develop and maintain construction schedules, trackers and forecasts

Manage subcontracts and procurement processes

What We’re Looking For:

Engineering degree (civil/mechanical/electrical) or equivalent

2+ years’ experience in construction, oil & gas, or civil infrastructure

Familiarity with HDPE, pipeline, or lease work (preferred but not essential)

Strong planning, communication and site coordination skills

A solutions-focused mindset and collaborative working style

High attention to detail, especially around compliance and reporting

Location:FIFO from Brisbane to Surat Basin

Package:Competitive salary + super + site uplift (depending on experience)
