Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to lead electrical, communications, control systems, and OT infrastructure for a major mining and infrastructure program in Brisbane.

You will oversee design, construction, commissioning and handover of remote operations control rooms, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget, through effective collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or electrical trade with project delivery experience.
• Experience delivering electrical infrastructure in mining/resources or heavy industry.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with remote operations, communications networks, automation or OT is highly regarded.

Duration: Immediate start through to September 2027

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a major mining and infrastructure program delivering innovative remote operations technology. This role will be responsible for leading the delivery of electrical, communications, control systems, and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure projects that support the rollout of Remote Control Dozer operations across multiple sites. Working within a multidisciplinary project team, you will oversee the design, construction, commissioning, and handover of remote operations control rooms and associated infrastructure, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of electrical infrastructure and remote operations projects.
• Manage the development and execution of stockpile remote operations control rooms.
• Coordinate electrical, communications, networking, OT, and control systems interfaces.
• Manage engineering consultants, contractors, vendors, and project budgets.
• Ensure compliance with site safety requirements, engineering standards, and project governance processes.
• Support commissioning, operational readiness activities, training, and project handover.
• Engage with key stakeholders across operations, maintenance, technology, and project teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

About You

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, or an electrical trade background with demonstrated project delivery experience.
• Proven experience delivering electrical infrastructure or capital projects within mining, resources, or heavy industry environments.
• Strong project management, contractor management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with remote operations, communications networks, automation, control systems, or Operational Technology (OT) will be highly regarded.
