Job summary

Zeal Personnel is seeking a Project Engineer for a FIFO assignment based out of Perth, with an 8 & 6 rotation. You will provide engineering leadership across the design, construction and commissioning of small to medium-scale capital projects in an operational mining environment, working with site stakeholders to safely deliver growth.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Construction or related technical discipline.
• Experience delivering engineering or capital projects in mining/heavy industrial environments.
• Exposure to design, construction, commissioning and handover lifecycle.
• Formal Project Management qualification is highly regarded.
• Experience coordinating contractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Solid understanding of project controls and compliance requirements.
• Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering oversight across the full project lifecycle, from design through to commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate with site teams, contractors and consultants to resolve technical issues and drive delivery.
• Support project controls including scheduling, cost tracking, forecasting and progress reporting.
• Monitor construction and commissioning activities, ensuring quality standards and design requirements are met.
• Maintain project records, as-built documentation and handover packages.
• Promote a strong safety culture and provide visible leadership in the field.

Our client seeks a Project Engineer for a FIFO role from Perth. On offer is an 8 & 6 rotation ex Perth. As Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering small to medium-scale capital projects in an operational mining environment. This hands-on role will see you provide technical leadership and engineering assurance across design, construction and commissioning, working closely with site stakeholders to safely deliver projects that support the future growth of the operations.

About The Role

To provide engineering oversight and technical support for small to medium-scale site-based capital projects, ensuring design integrity, compliance and effective delivery through construction, commissioning and handover. The scope is inclusive of:

• Water bore exploration and development
• Tailings storage facility embankment lifts
• Processing office expansion and wastewater treatment plant
• Light vehicle workshop development
• Underground change room replacement
• Heavy vehicle workshop expansion and redesign

Key Capabilities

• Provide engineering support and oversight across the full project lifecycle, from design through to commissioning and handover
• Review and manage engineering documentation to ensure safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose project outcomes
• Coordinate with site teams, contractors and consultants to resolve technical issues, ensure availability of work areas, and drive project delivery
• Support project controls including scheduling, cost tracking, forecasting and progress reporting
• Monitor construction and commissioning activities, ensuring quality standards and design requirements are met
• Manage engineering risks and ensure compliance with relevant standards, legislation and company requirements
• Maintain project records, as-built documentation and handover packages
• Promote a strong safety culture and provide visible leadership in the field

What We Expect You To Bring

• A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Construction or a related technical discipline
• Experience delivering engineering or capital projects within operational mining, processing, or heavy industrial environments
• Exposure the full project lifecycle including design review, construction, commissioning and handover
• A formal qualification in Project Management would be highly regarded
• Experience coordinating contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary site teams
• Solid understanding of project controls, engineering documentation and compliance requirements
• Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor qualification is preferred

Ideally you are a practical and collaborative individual who enjoys working in a dynamic site-based environment and seeing projects through from concept to completion. You have experience delivering capital projects in mining or heavy industrial operations, with strong technical judgment, a proactive approach to communication, and a commitment to safe, high-quality project outcomes.
