Job summary

Daikin Australia is seeking a Project Engineer specialising in AHU and custom HVAC equipment. You will lead Make to Order HVAC projects, optimize designs for quality and manufacturability, and ensure compliance with Australian standards.

Collaborative cross-functional work with procurement, QA and sales is essential. The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, 3–5 years in HVAC design or project engineering, and CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Revit).

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• 3–5 years of project/design engineering in HVAC.
• Professional accreditation (CPEng, MIEAust) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed drawings, 3D models, and cost estimates for custom HVAC products.
• Develop manufacturing drawings and production instructions for tenders.
• Provide hands-on technical support to production teams during assembly.
• Maintain project documentation, schedules and cross-functional coordination.

You will work directly on optimizing custom equipment designs for quality, performance, manufacturability, and full compliance with Australian standards.Key Responsibilities:Create detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and cost estimations for custom HVAC products in support of sales and business development activities.Develop accurate manufacturing drawings and production instructions for successful project tenders.Specify and select high-quality materials, components, and equipment aligned with project scope, industry standards, and sustainability goals.Provide hands-on technical support to production teams during assembly and fabrication, troubleshooting design and technical issues as they arise.Maintain complete technical documentation, project schedules, and progress reports while collaborating cross-functionally across procurement, quality assurance, and sales teams.About youTo excel in this role, you will be a proactive engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical HVAC design and a passion for continuous improvement.Tertiary degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering).
