Job summary
Brunel is recruiting a Project Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team delivering water treatment and process equipment solutions for industrial, mining, municipal and infrastructure clients across Australia.
You will lead projects from design through commissioning, manage budgets and schedules, and liaise with clients, suppliers and contractors. A strong background in water treatment, P&IDs and process calculations is essential.
Qualifications
- Engineering qualification in Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in water or wastewater treatment or related industry.
- Experience delivering projects from concept to commissioning.
- Strong understanding of water & wastewater processes.
- Experience with P&IDs & General Arrangements.
- Experience with process/hydraulic calculations.
- Experience with equipment selection and procurement.
- Experience with vendor engineering reviews & documentation.
- Demonstrated commissioning, troubleshooting & plant optimisation.
Responsibilities
- Deliver water and wastewater treatment projects from design through to commissioning.
- Manage projects across design, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning.
- Review P&IDs, GA drawings and project specifications.
- Complete process and hydraulic calculations.
- Support equipment selection, vendor reviews and procurement.
- Lead commissioning, troubleshooting and plant optimisation.
- Prepare functional descriptions, control philosophies, I/O lists, O&M manuals and reports.
- Manage project schedules, budgets and client requirements.
- Work closely with clients, suppliers and contractors.
- Assist with estimates, quotations and tenders.
- Ensure projects meet HSEQ requirements and Australian Standards.

- Experience working with clients, suppliers, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of project budgets, schedules and delivery requirements.
- Experience contributing to estimates, quotations and tenders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality and environmental requirements.
- Permanent, full-time position based in Malaga, Perth
- Salary package up to $150,000 + superannuation

- Exposure across the full project lifecycle, working alongside experienced engineering and commissioning teams
- Opportunity to be considered at Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer level
