Job summary

Goldwind Australia is seeking a Project Development Manager to advance wind, solar or battery development projects through to FID and financial close. You will oversee scope, cost, resourcing, timing and risk within a matrix team, developing robust business cases for approvals and ensuring compliance with policies and laws.

Ideal candidates hold a Science/Engineering/Planning degree or related qualifications, with wind energy project development and financing experience, plus strong

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in a relevant discipline (Science/Engineering/Planning).
• Business management or business development qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Wind farm development knowledge is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of wind farm components and development.
• Solid grasp of project financing and financial modelling.
• Understanding of accounting and financial management.
• Ability to consolidate detailed project information into key issues.
• Ability to work in a matrix structure team.
• Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and prioritise.
• Ability to develop project management tools if required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Goldwind Australia team is a vibrant and collaborative team comprising individuals with diverse professional backgrounds that support one another to see projects succeed. The Development Team is supported by strong in-house technical departments such as grid and the wind resource analysis teams.

The reason for this role:

Goldwind Australia is seeking a Project Development Manager for the Development Team. This role is accountable to the Head of Development Projects to progress one or more wind farm, solar farm or battery project under development through to Final Investment Decision (FID).

What you will be doing?

Take responsibility for progressing the development of one or more development project(s) to the point of successful investment decision and ultimately financial close.

Be accountable for managing the scope/ cost/ resourcing/ timing/ risk of the projects that have been assigned.

Assist with the development of appropriate business case material used to gain budget approvals and delegated authority approvals.

Ensure work is done in accordance with Company policies and procedures and all applicable Laws, Standards, Codes of Conduct and Legislative requirements.

What does your background look like?

Degree qualification in a relevant discipline such as Science, Engineering or Planning.

Business management or business development qualifications or experience.

Previous experience in a similar or same position.

Training relevant to any aspect of wind farm project development would be an advantage.

A strong understanding of the many components of wind farm development.

A sound understanding of project financing and financial modelling.

Sound understanding of accounting and financial management.

Ability to consolidate detailed project information into key issues that require focus.

Ability to work in a matrix structure style team.

Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and prioritize accordingly.

Ability to develop project management tools if required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
