Responsibilities

• Define project capex and opex; manage contracts with landowners, grid connection providers, project vendors and service providers.
• Assist with the business case of projects under development and work with others to execute defined processes.
• Provide project information for planning and engage stakeholders with regular updates.
• Liaise with clients, vendors, service providers and government agencies to ensure timely delivery.

About the role

The Senior Development Manager (SDM) is accountable to the Head of Development Projects to progress one or more wind farm or battery projects under development through to Final Investment Decision (FID). The role involves initiating progress and taking responsibility for progressing one or more development project(s) to the point of successful investment decision and ultimately financial close, while being accountable for managing the scope, cost, resourcing, timing, and risk associated with assigned projects.

Key responsibilities

Manage projects and components of portfolio projects, including preparing project development plans, managing wind analysis, turbine and infrastructure layouts, grid connections, development approvals, environment studies, community engagement, relationships with landowners, and defining project capex and opex.

Manage contracts with landowners, grid connection providers, project vendors and service providers.

Assist with the business case of projects under development.

Work collaboratively with other teams to effectively execute business processes as per defined accountabilities, interdependencies, and handover points.

Provide project related information to assist with planning of development projects.

Engage with stakeholders to provide project updates.

Manage and work effectively with clients, key vendors, service providers and government agencies.

Ensure work is done in accordance with company policies and procedures, and all applicable Laws, Standards, Codes of Conduct and Legislative requirements.

About you

At least 10+ years' experience in the wind or renewable energy industry.

Degree qualification in a relevant discipline such as Science, Engineering or Planning.

Proven record in wind farm project development.

Previous experience in a similar or same position.

Experience in the power or construction industry would be an advantage.

Personnel management experience is beneficial.

Training relevant to any aspect of wind farm project development would be an advantage.
