Housing Industry Association Limited in Adelaide seeks a Project Coordinator to co-lead a 12-storey, 150+-room commercial complex project scheduled to start in April 2026. You will work with the Project Manager to ensure contract compliance, QA, and delivery across design, procurement, and commissioning stages.
Ideal candidates will hold a tertiary qualification in Construction, Engineering or Project Management, with proven experience delivering Australian commercial projects in the last five
Job description Company This builder has become the go-to company for tendered, project-managed, and design-and-construct projects throughout South Australia. How they became this is simple: the business model is based on overheads, cost-plus contracts, and efficient, innovative building techniques that keep costs low while maintaining high standards. The owner and director have been a long-standing presence in Adelaide, leading companies and being at the forefront of complex yet exciting builds throughout SA for thirty years. He's looking to mentor this person and bring them into Project Management over the following two projects.
We have a 12-storey, 150+-room commercial complex that requires a Project Coordinator. With construction starting in April 2026, the person needed would be well-versed in projects exceeding $20M, but ideally closer to this one, with experience in a comparable project or a background that includes a completed project of a similar scope. It doesn't have to be of the same size and scope as the above; something comparable that is complex enough to avoid being overwhelming.
Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline, preferably from South Australia, but from interstate or overseas, are also acceptable. Proven experience in delivering commercial projects within the Australian market over the past five years. Some experience across key project phases, including delivery, building services, and commissioning. Strong understanding of project controls and delivery methodologies. Confident in coordinating large-scale commercial projects from concept to completion. Professional, proactive, and solution-focused approach. Strong attention to detail and a dedication to continuous improvement.
The team the Director and I have built for you over the past year is second to none. Young, ambitious individuals would be well-suited to the company's future. You will have two direct reports under you as you run this project with the Project Manager. First, he is a Junior Project Coordinator, and second, as a graduate, he is working on his first project. We are looking for someone who enjoys taking charge and showing initiative to guide these two construction professionals. If you're an aspiring leader looking to become a Project Manager in two or three years, this role is ideal for you. You'll be paid very well and likely above market rate for your current position, given that no one other than the Managing Director has any influence on package decisions. Rest assured, you'll be well taken care of.
Someone who has been consulting, recruiting, and headhunting construction CTA talent for over a decade without deviating into any other sector. Someone who loves to chat about your past, present, and future career, and learn how I can help you get the most out of your next position. Someone who will keep our conversations, dealings, and applications quiet and confidential, so you always feel comfortable and safe working with me.
