Job summary

Downer is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the Health & Education team in delivering planned and project works that meet contractual and service expectations. You will report to the Operations Manager and help drive continuous improvement while maintaining high-quality outcomes for our clients at the TAFE Southbank site.

Ideal candidates have proven project delivery experience in facilities management or construction, with strong subcontractor management and multi-workstream

• Trade background or relevant industry experience is valued.
• Project management qualification is desirable.

Job description

We currently have an opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join our Health & Education team and play a key role in delivering planned and project works that ensure consistent, high-quality service outcomes while driving continuous improvement. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.

What You’ll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

• Lead the successful delivery of planned and project works across the TAFE Southbank site, ensuring outcomes align with contractual and service expectations.
• Build strong and collaborative relationships with stakeholders, supporting a seamless customer experience.
• Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.
• Identify and implement service improvements that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
• Monitor project progress, ensuring risks are managed proactively and outcomes are consistently achieved.

What You’ll Bring

Proven experience in project delivery within facilities management, construction, or a related environment.

Strong capability in managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple workstreams.

Trade background (highly regarded) or relevant industry experience.

Project Management qualification (desirable) or demonstrated practical experience.

A collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
