Job summary

PCA Ground Engineering is seeking a Project Accountant who can read the numbers behind our live project portfolio and translate them into actions for Project Managers and Commercial. You’ll own WIP, revenue recognition, cost-to-complete and margin reporting across multiple jobs.

This role goes beyond transactions: you’ll work with Project Managers to sharpen forecasts and with Commercial on claims and variations, requiring clear communication and solid technical accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• 2+ years in a project accounting, cost accounting or commercial finance role.
• Strong Excel skills, including cashflow and variance modelling.
• Working knowledge of revenue recognition for long-term contracts (percentage-of-completion style reporting).
• Comfortable interpreting contracts for variation and claim substantiation.
• Willing to travel to project sites as required.
• CA or CPA, completed or well underway.
• Construction, civil or engineering industry experience.
• Exposure to job-costing ERPs, Business Central highly regarded.
• Big 4 or mid-tier firm background, particularly audit.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a Project Accountant who can read the numbers behind our live project portfolio and translate them into something Project Managers and Commercial can actually act on. You'll own WIP and revenue recognition, cost-to-complete and margin reporting, and the cost-code discipline that keeps our project financials trustworthy across every job, not just the easy ones.

This isn't a purely transactional role. You'll be working directly with Project Managers to sharpen forecast accuracy, and with Commercial on claims and variations, so confidence and clear communication matter as much as technical accuracy.
