Job summary

One Door is seeking a strategic Program Manager for Medicare Mental Health Centre Canterbury, Downtown Sydney, Australia. The role leads an established service as it relocates to a larger, purpose-built facility in Campsie and expands to seven-day operations.

The successful candidate will drive growth, empower teams and cultivate strong community partnerships, including participation in on-call and occasional after-hours work.

• Full-time position based in Canterbury, with relocation to a larger centre in Campsie currently underway (approximately 10 minutes from the current location)

Medicare Mental Health Centre (MMHC) Canterbury is an adult mental health centre offering a welcoming, low-stigma entry point for individuals experiencing distress or crisis. The centre delivers short-to-medium-terms episodes of care, connecting people to ongoing support through service navigation and collaborative care planning.

About the role

Join us at an exciting time of growth as we prepare to relocate to a larger, purpose-built centre in Campsie and expand to seven day operations. We're looking for a strategic, influential and adaptable leader who passionate about improving mental health outcomes, empowering teams and building strong community partnerships. This full time opportunity includes participation in an on-call roster and occasional after-hours and weekend work, with flexible working arrangements considered for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee service operations, budget performance, quality and compliance requirements and the achievement of key service targets in line with organisational policies and procedures.
• Foster a positive, recovery-oriented and trauma-informed culture that champions lived and living experience and supports a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
• Coach, mentor and develop staff, strengthening capability, engagement and professional growth across the service.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with community, clinical and sector stakeholders to enhance collaboration and improve access to support.
• Oversee service budget, performance targets, governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement activities to ensure sustainable and effective service delivery.

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary Qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or other relevant professions with current registration with the relevant professional body (AHPRA, AASW, PACFA, etc.)
• Proven experience in leadership and capability to coach, mentor and develop a team to achieve best quality service outcomes including experience in the provision of high-quality supervision.
• An understanding of service data and the ability to analyse data to inform service improvement and design.
• High level of organisation skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, manage multiple complex tasks concurrently, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and influence peers, stakeholders, and government agencies with diplomacy to achieve effective outcomes.
