Job summary

Baldivis Secondary College in Western Australia seeks a Program Coordinator – Instructional Excellence to provide educational leadership across the college, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based instruction with rigour and support. You will drive MTSS, AVID, and instructional playbooks, coaching staff and aligning with college directions.

• Oversee mainstream academic support and intervention delivery.
• Coordinate Pre-service, Graduate and Aspirant Teacher programs.
• Undertake administrative duties and teaching as required.

The Role

As Program Coordinator – Instructional Excellence, the successful applicants will provide educational leadership across the college, ensuring students have access to high-quality, engaging, evidence-based instruction that combines rigour with support. Working closely with the Deputy Principal – Instructional Excellence and in alignment with our College Directions, they will hold teachers to the highest expectations, ensuring consistency across the college, while providing the coaching, modelling and support staff need to meet them. Key areas of responsibility for this role include:

• Lead MTSS Tier 1 Academic Support for all students through the implementation and ongoing development of AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) as the college's core instructional framework, including the AVID Tertiary and Career Readiness Framework, across all learning areas.
• Lead the development and implementation of the college's Instructional Model and Playbook to build consistency, predictability, and high expectations in every classroom.
• Liaise with Heads of Learning Area to drive consistency in high-quality teaching practice college-wide through instructional coaching, classroom observation, feedback, and modelling.
• Lead the AVID Site Team and the Coaching Site Team, including the development of site team members, collection of relevant data, and development and monitoring of Operational Plans.
• Use student achievement and staff practice data to identify professional learning needs, including instructional excellence, CMS (Classroom Management Strategies) and ISE (Instructional Strategies for Engagement), and plan, source and deliver tailored professional learning.
• Lead the mainstream academic support program, including student case management (academic) and oversight of the intervention program delivery.
• Lead EALD (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) and CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) programs, ensuring tailored support and high-level educational outcomes for these students.
• Coordinate programs for Pre-service, Graduate and Aspirant Teachers.
• Undertake administrative duties associated with the role and liaise extensively with the Senior Leadership Team and relevant specialist staff.
• Undertake a teaching role, if required.

As key members of the college's Senior Leadership Team, the successful applicants will also support college improvement initiatives aligned with the Business Plan, promote positive relationships with students, families and the wider community, and manage human, physical and financial resources effectively.
