Job summary

WorkPac is seeking a production-focused Plant Operator to assist with the running of an asphalt plant local to Townsville. The role involves operating front end loaders, bobcats, forklifts and other plant, with potential for night shifts and weekend overtime.

Produce, dispatch and maintain quality asphalt products while coordinating with the laboratory and production team. A current licence and a strong safety mindset are essential for this long-term opportunity.

Qualifications

• Experience in plant, production, batching or asphalt preferred.
• Front End Loader experience and RII essential.
• Current Driver Licence and reliable transport.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safety mindset.
• Forklift, EWP or Confined Space tickets highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Produce, allocate and dispatch asphalt product to meet production and quality requirements.
• Monitor and conduct routine maintenance of the asphalt production plant and associated equipment.
• Operate mobile plant including front end loader, bobcat, and forklift.
• Dispatch and loading of trucks with above machinery.
• Basic administration including stock control.
• Work closely with the laboratory and production team.

What You Will Need

• Previous plant, production, batching or asphalt experience (preferred)
• Front End Loader experience and RII (essential)
• Current Driver Licence and reliable transport
• Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to safety
• Forklift, EWP or Confined Space ticket (highly regarded)
