Job summary

Nufarm in Laverton North (Pipe Road) is seeking an Experienced Chemical/High Hazard Production Operator to join our Production Formulation team. You will manage production processes, handle materials, operate equipment and monitor quality.

The role includes shift work with morning/afternoon roster and regular RDOs, emphasizing safety, PPE, and rigorous procedures. You will contribute to productivity and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience operating in a chemical manufacturing or high-hazard environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate chemical plants to schedule and cycle times.
• Follow standard operating procedures and batch sheets.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe workplace.
• Follow safety regulations and wear PPE.
• Report any safety incidents or hazards immediately.
• Support QA to ensure batch quality and prevent cross-contamination.
• Assist with equipment cleaning and process improvements.

Based at our Pipe Road, chemical manufacturing facility in Laverton North we are looking for a Experienced Chemical/High Hazard Production Operator to join our Production Formulation team. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the production process, including material handling, equipment operation, process monitoring, quality control, warehousing, and various support activities.

This role may work across a rotating morning/afternoon roster with regular RDO’s

How You’ll Help Us Grow

• Operating various chemical plants efficiently, to schedule and to cycle times
• Following standard defined operating procedures as instructed
• Following and completing batch sheets accurately and to agreed standard
• Ensuring good workplace organisation and housekeeping
• Ensuring all safety regulations are followed and that necessary PPE is always worn
• Immediately reporting any safety incidents or hazards
• Carrying out QA functions to ensure batches conform to agreed quality specifications
• Ensuring vessels and equipment are washed out to specified standards to minimise the risk of cross contamination
• Proposing modifications and improvements concerning productivity, safety and quality

Could This Be You?

You will have previous experience operating in a chemical manufacturing or high-hazard environment, both indoors and outdoors and be safety-minded, with the ability to identify potential hazards and risks in a high-risk environment.

You enjoy working both autonomously and as part of a close team environment and have an interest in further training and development opportunities. A forklift license is essential to the role. You will have a strong attention to detail and be committed to maintaining quality standards and following established procedures.

You will be comfortable using computers and basic workplace systems, with the ability to accurately enter and record information as required. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact positively and professionally with contractors and internal teams and be prepared to work flexible hours.

You will be physically capable of undertaking manual handling tasks as required, with a strong focus on using safe lifting techniques and following appropriate procedures to minimise the risk of injury. Nufarm provides the opportunity to learn while you work, with regular skill sign-offs as you develop and progress in the role
