Job summary

Nufarm is expanding its Production Formulation team at Laverton North, Victoria. We seek an Experienced Chemical/High Hazard Production Operator to manage all aspects of the production process, including material handling, equipment operation, process monitoring, quality control, and warehousing.

The role involves a rotating morning/afternoon roster with regular RDOs. Ideal candidates have prior chemical manufacturing experience, a safety-minded approach, and a forklift license.

Qualifications

• Forklift license is essential.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing or high-hazard environments preferred.
• Able to work autonomously and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate various chemical plants efficiently according to schedule and cycle times.
• Follow standard operating procedures and batch sheets accurately.
• Maintain workplace organization and housekeeping.
• Adhere to safety regulations and wear PPE at all times.
• Immediately report safety incidents or hazards.
• Carry out QA checks to ensure batches meet quality specifications.
• Wash vessels and equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
• Suggest improvements to productivity, safety and quality.

Based at our Pipe Road, chemical manufacturing facility in Laverton North we are looking for a Experienced Chemical/High Hazard Production Operator to join our Production Formulation team. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the production process, including material handling, equipment operation, process monitoring, quality control, warehousing, and various support activities.

How You’ll Help Us Grow

• Operating various chemical plants efficiently, to schedule and to cycle times
• Following standard defined operating procedures as instructed
• Following and completing batch sheets accurately and to agreed standard
• Ensuring good workplace organisation and housekeeping
• Ensuring all safety regulations are followed and that necessary PPE is always worn
• Immediately reporting any safety incidents or hazards
• Carrying out QA functions to ensure batches conform to agreed quality specifications
• Ensuring vessels and equipment are washed out to specified standards to minimise the risk of cross contamination
• Proposing modifications and improvements concerning productivity, safety and quality

Could This Be You?

You will have previous experience operating in a chemical manufacturing or high-hazard environment, both indoors and outdoors and be safety-minded, with the ability to identify potential hazards and risks in a high-risk environment.

You enjoy working both autonomously and as part of a close team environment and have an interest in further training and development opportunities. A forklift license is essential to the role. You will have a strong attention to detail and be committed to maintaining quality standards and following established procedures.

You will be comfortable using computers and basic workplace systems, with the ability to accurately enter and record information as required. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact positively and professionally with contractors and internal teams and be prepared to work flexible hours.

You will be physically capable of undertaking manual handling tasks as required, with a strong focus on using safe lifting techniques and following appropriate procedures to minimise the risk of injury.
