Job summary

BHP's Prominent Hill site in South Australia is seeking a Production Engineer to own day-to-day underground operations, using data analysis and field observations to improve safety and efficiency.

Reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, you will work with frontline crews and planners to validate designs, refine schedules, and drive continuous improvement while upholding safety and community commitments with traditional owners.

Qualifications

• Underground hard rock mining experience is required.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely in a team environment.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Design and review drilling, blasting and production plans with experienced colleagues.
• Liaise with stakeholders to ensure drill and blast designs meet site requirements.
• Spend regular time in the field to supervise underground production activities safely.
• Undertake QA/QC monitoring for production activities.
• Complete stope reconciliations and abandonments on completion.
• Manage iKon blasting system with training and mentorship.
• Review and approve survey memos.
• Monitor and maintain quality data on underground performance.
• Lead projects that improve processes and practices.
• Assist with incident investigations and safety improvements.
• Conduct task observations and CCV as required.
• Identify hazards and report rectifications per site requirements.
