Job summary

Gold Fields’ Granny Smith Gold Mine seeks an experienced Production Engineer to join a diverse mining team. You will be responsible for developing and implementing production plans aligned with short- to mid-term targets under the Senior Engineer: Mine Production.

This permanent FIFO role from Perth offers a 6% site allowance, quarterly bonus up to 10%, private health insurance, five weeks annual leave, long service leave after five years, and paid parental leave.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mining or equivalent.
• Experience in hard rock mining, preferably gold.
• Exposure to Deswik CAD and UGDB is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement weekly, monthly, and quarterly production plans.
• Ensure stope designs and drill and blast plans maximise ore extraction and minimise dilution.
• Lead and coordinate the mining team with clear communication.

The Opportunity:

You’ll be a key member of a diverse and experienced Mining team at Granny Smith Gold Mine.

Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Production, you will be responsible for all mining aspects including the development and implementation of production plans in line with short to medium term planning targets.

What You’ll Do:

• Development and implementation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly production plans in line with operational targets.
• Ensure that stope designs and subsequent drill and blast plans maximise ore extraction and minimise dilution.
• Direct and lead all members of the technical and operational mining team and ensure goal unity through concise communication.

What You’ll Bring:

• Have a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven hard rock engineering experience, preferably gold, with exposure to all production phases including ventilation and experience in Drill and Blast, ideally Longhole Open Stoping and/or Inclined Room and Pillar methods.
• Exposure to Mining software Deswik CAD and UGDB would be highly regarded.
