Job summary

Gold Fields' Granny Smith Gold Mine in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to develop and implement production plans in line with short to mid-term targets.

Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Production, you will lead the mining team, optimise ore extraction, and manage drill and blast and ventilation, with 8/6 FIFO from Perth and a Life of Mine of 10 years plus. This permanent role offers a competitive site allowance and a quarterly bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mining engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in hard rock mining with drill and blast and ventilation.
• Exposure to Deswik CAD and UGDB is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement weekly, monthly, and quarterly production plans.
• Lead mining team and ensure safety and target achievement.
• Optimise ore extraction and minimise dilution through design and blasting.

The Opportunity

You’ll be a key member of a diverse and experienced Mining team at Granny Smith Gold Mine. Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Production, you will be responsible for all mining aspects including the development and implementation of production plans in line with short to medium term planning targets.

What You’ll Do

• Development and implementation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly production plans in line with operational targets.
• Ensure that stope designs and subsequent drill and blast plans maximise ore extraction and minimise dilution.
• Direct and lead all members of the technical and operational mining team and ensure goal unity through concise communication.

What You’ll Bring

• Have a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven hard rock engineering experience, preferably gold, with exposure to all production phases including ventilation and experience in Drill and Blast, ideally Longhole Open Stoping and/or Inclined Room and Pillar methods.
• Exposure to Mining software Deswik CAD and UGDB would be highly regarded.
