Job summary

Granny Smith Gold Mine, part of Gold Fields, is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join a diverse and seasoned mining team. You will develop and implement weekly, monthly and quarterly production plans in line with short to medium term targets, driving ore recovery and efficiency.

Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Production, you will lead the technical and operations team, optimise stope designs and drill-and-blast plans, and ensure concise, safety-focused communication to

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Hard rock mining experience, preferably gold, with drill and blast exposure.
• Experience with ventilation and stoping methods (LHOS or room-pillar).
• Familiarity with Deswik CAD and UGDB software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement weekly, monthly, and quarterly production plans.
• Ensure stopes and drill/blast plans maximise ore extraction and minimise dilution.
• Lead the mining team with clear, concise communication to achieve goals.

• Ideal role for an experienced Production Engineer

The Opportunity:

You’ll be a key member of a diverse and experienced Mining team at Granny Smith Gold Mine.

Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Production, you will be responsible for all mining aspects including the development and implementation of production plans in line with short to medium term planning targets.

What You’ll Do:

• Development and implementation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly production plans in line with operational targets.
• Ensure that stope designs and subsequent drill and blast plans maximise ore extraction and minimise dilution.
• Direct and lead all members of the technical and operational mining team and ensure goal unity through concise communication.

What You’ll Bring:

• Have a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven hard rock engineering experience, preferably gold, with exposure to all production phases including ventilation and experience in Drill and Blast, ideally Longhole Open Stoping and/or Inclined Room and Pillar methods.
• Exposure to Mining software Deswik CAD and UGDB would be highly regarded.
