Job summary

Unison is seeking a Production Assistant to support our Production, Design and Buying teams through the product development process. Based at our St Kilda Road offices, you will keep schedules updated, coordinate samples, prepare technical packs and assist with sustainability requirements.

The role suits someone with 2+ years in apparel production, offshore experience, and a qualification in production/quality control. Women's wear experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in apparel production (offshore experience preferred).
• Tertiary qualification in production and/or quality control.
• Experience in women's apparel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Production team.
• Maintain and update production trackers, schedules and monthly purchase orders.
• Update purchase orders against packing lists with Finance and Supply Chain.
• Maintain filing of samples and production documentation.
• Coordinate sample arrivals and fit session schedules.
• Ensure offshore samples are steamed and presented ahead of weekly fittings.
• Build relationships with suppliers, agents, factories and internal stakeholders.
• On-site role 5-days per week at St Kilda Road offices.

Job description

We are looking for a Production Assistant to join our Unison team and play an important role in supporting our Production, Design and Buying teams throughout the product development process.

Working closely with the Production Manager and wider team, you'll help keep production schedules and purchase orders up to date, coordinate samples and fit sessions, prepare technical packs and support our sustainability requirements.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong apparel production experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

THE ROLE:

• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Production team
• Maintain and update production trackers, schedules and monthly purchase orders
• Update purchase orders against packing lists in partnership with Finance and Supply Chain
• Maintain organised filing of samples and production documentation
• Coordinate the collection and distribution of samples and supplier packs
• Create and update technical drawings when required
• Coordinate sample arrivals and fit session schedules with the Production and Buying teams
• Ensure offshore samples are steamed and presented to a high standard ahead of weekly fittings
• Build strong working relationships with suppliers, agents, factories and internal stakeholders
• On-site role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• 2+ years' experience in a similar apparel production role, with offshore production experience
• A tertiary qualification or equivalent in production and/or quality control
• Experience in women's apparel is preferred
• A good understanding of garment construction, size specifications and garment fittings
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to keep multiple production requirements moving
• Strong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent PC skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
