Job summary

IPD Group in Sydney, NSW is seeking a hands-on Product Engineer to support our Low Voltage Switchboards portfolio. You will apply electrical knowledge to assist design, estimation tools, and customer training, while helping deliver outstanding project outcomes.

This role works closely with Sales, Estimation, Engineering and customers to provide technical support, maintain documentation and drawings, and drive continuous improvement in our switchboard solutions.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineer qualification or Electrician trade qualification required.
• Experience in switchboard design, estimation, technical support, or a related electrical industry role.
• Strong understanding of Low Voltage Switchboards and electrical distribution systems.
• Knowledge of AS/NZS 61439 and AS/NZS 3000.
• Experience delivering technical training or presenting technical information to customers is advantageous.
• Proficiency with ERP, CAD and Microsoft Office; strong documentation and technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Delivering technical training and support to customers and internal teams on Low Voltage Switchboard solutions, including design and estimation tools.
• Partnering with Sales, Estimation, and Engineering teams to provide technical expertise, support project opportunities, and attend customer meetings.
• Supporting product development, portfolio optimisation, and digital tool enhancements to improve customer and sales experiences.
• Maintaining expert knowledge of Low Voltage Switchboards and relevant standards, including AS/NZS 61439 and AS/NZS 3000, to provide trusted technical guidance.
• Managing customer requirements, product documentation, specifications, drawings, technical data, and marketing collateral to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Driving quality, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives while promoting safe and professional work practices.
