Job summary

Neural Concept is seeking a Product Engineer to build Design Engineering Knowledge, extracting requirements from customer specs, and connecting them to design rules and manufacturing considerations. You will extend this foundation to DfM, DfA, and cost constraints, and link it to ERP and MBSE tools.

You will collaborate with the Product Manager, solution engineers, and customer engineering teams from early conversations to production deployments, delivering reusable components for multiple

Qualifications

• Experience building and shipping production Python software in fast-moving teams.
• Hands-on experience with LLM applications in production: structured outputs, retrieval-augmented generation, agents, evaluation.
• Experience integrating with ERP/PLM and requirements management tools via APIs and data models.
• Experience with document processing: PDF parsing, OCR, information extraction.
• Strong software practices: testing (pytest), CI, packaging, code reviews, Git.
• A product mindset: talk to users, understand problems, ship in small, measurable steps.
• Clear, concise communication with customer engineers and internal teams.
• Based in Cambridge (UK) or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Build the requirements foundation: ingest customer specifications, extract requirements, and trace to source documents.
• Extend the foundation to design rules, DfM, DfA, and Design for Cost as constraints for software and agents.
• Integrate requirements, constraints, and trade-offs into the design workflow for ongoing checks.
• Develop integrations with ERP, cost data, materials, supplier data, and MBSE tools.
• Design a data model linking requirements, rules, and constraints to parts and simulations.
• Create evaluation sets and quality metrics with customers to measure extraction accuracy.
• Design human-in-the-loop review flows with versioning and audit trails.
• Identify recurring patterns across customers and build reusable components.
