Job summary

eQ8 is seeking an experienced Product Engineer to build, enhance and maintain the eQ8 platform across frontend, backend and cloud environments. You will translate customer needs into secure, scalable software while collaborating with Product, Design and Engineering teams.

You will contribute to AI-assisted development, code reviews, and improvements to CI/CD pipelines, testing and monitoring, within a small agile team based in Pyrmont, Australia.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in CS/SE/IT or equivalent experience.
• Experience as Product Engineer, Software Engineer, Full Stack Engineer or similar.
• Experience in SaaS/product-led environments across backend, frontend and cloud.
• Knowledge of secure coding, lifecycle management, Agile, testing and CI/CD.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Effective collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams.
• Product-minded and customer-focused with ownership from implementation to release.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain product features across the eQ8 platform.
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams to translate requirements into software solutions.
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve productivity in development, testing and documentation.
• Contribute ideas during feature planning and product discussions.
• Build secure, scalable software across frontend, backend and cloud environments.
• Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices.
• Improve development workflows including testing, CI/CD, automation and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects while supporting continuous product improvement.
• Take ownership from implementation through deployment and post-release support.
• Work in a small, agile team to deliver outcomes meeting customer needs.
