Job description

776BC International Pty Ltd – Port Melbourne VIC

Founded by two-time Olympian and Olympic Silver Medallist Cameron McKenzie-McHarg and Kate McKenzie-McHarg 776BC makes performance apparel with the same intensity, passion and desire to achieve success as an athlete.

We engineer gear for athletes first, as we know athletes wear gear the hardest. Our 'athlete centred' design process is unique, engaging athletes from the start of the development process to provide ongoing feedback on prototypes.

Our promise is to never stop evolving improving and innovating. To consistently delivery world leading apparel for when you're training, playing and winning.

776BC. Built for Athletes.

The Role

Keep product development and production moving through organised sample management, accurate product information and proactive factory follow-up.

You’ll coordinate samples, submissions, approvals and outstanding actions, ensuring the team knows what’s on track and what needs attention. As a consistent on‑site contact, you’ll keep agreed work moving when the Head of Product is off‑site and elevate issues before they affect delivery.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Product, Production Lead, Graphic Design Lead, Marketing and Sales teams, and offshore suppliers. This is a hands‑on coordination role; technical approvals and final product decisions remain with the relevant leads.

This role suits someone early in their career with some industry experience who enjoys variety and wants to see how performance apparel goes from concept to customer. You'll be involved in every stage of the product lifecycle, from first prototype through to bulk delivery, working alongside the people who lead each part of it.

The variety within this role is deliberate. The role is designed as a launchpad. As you build your skills and find where your strengths lie, we'll support you to grow towards the part of the business that excites you most, whether that's product development, technical design, production, quality or sourcing. You'll build a well‑rounded foundation and a clear path towards the career you want.

Key responsibilities

Receive, unpack, label and log prototypes, salesman samples (SMS), pre‑production samples (PPS), strike‑offs and other development items.

Keep the Product Room and archive organised, with clear records of sample status, location and movement.

Coordinate sample shipments, courier bookings, documentation and delivery tracking.

Prepare samples for fit sessions, reviews and Brand photoshoots, tracking loans and returns.

Maintain the Product Wall with current launches, development milestones and range activity, in collaboration with Brand.

Submissions & approvals

Maintain physical and digital records of lab dips, strike‑offs, fabrics, zippers, labels, hangtags and other trims.

Coordinate print briefs, colour strike‑offs and artwork revisions with the product and design teams.

Route submissions to the appropriate approver, track required decision dates and follow up outstanding or revised submissions.

Communicate approved comments to factories and maintain a clear history of approvals, artwork and development files.

Factories & Deadlines

Manage daily operational factory correspondence against priorities agreed with the product and production leads.

Maintain development calendars and critical path trackers covering samples, submissions, approvals and dispatch dates.

Chase outstanding commitments, confirm shipping details and obtain tracking numbers.

Keep actions, owners and due dates visible. Escalate delays early, explaining the likely impact and action required.

Tech Packs and Product information

Build and maintain tech packs in Adobe Illustrator/excel under the relevant product lead’s direction, including technical flats, construction details, bills of materials and measurement specifications.

Apply approved fit, colour, fabric, trim and artwork changes; record fit notes, measurements, photos and actions promptly after fit sessions.

Check style codes, colourways, specifications and artwork placement for completeness and consistency, flagging missing or conflicting information.

Control revisions, archive superseded files and track which version was issued to each supplier and when.

Keep product systems, trackers and production files accurate and current.

Quality Support

Check incoming samples, strike‑offs and PPS against current tech packs and approved references, recording colour, print, measurement and construction differences.

Carry out random bulk inspections at head office against the agreed standard and elevate failures to the Production Lead the same day.

Photograph issues and maintain a central quality log, including the style, supplier, corrective action and closure date.

Maintain inspection checklists, measurement records and approval documentation; follow up agreed corrective actions.

Log complaints referred by Growth, Sales and Customer Service, and provide a monthly summary of recurring faults by supplier and style to the product and production leads.

Final technical approvals and decisions to accept, rework or reject product remain with the relevant product lead and Production Lead.
