Job summary

CSR is seeking a Product Development Engineer to join the Customer Solutions team in Wetherill Park, NSW. You will research, design, test, and commercialise innovative insulation and ventilation products, working with Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain and Technical teams to move concepts to market.

You'll apply your engineering degree and at least 2 years' NPD experience to deliver compliant, high-performing solutions, manage projects from concept through launch, and support product roadmaps

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Structural, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in new product development or product engineering.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience interpreting technical standards, regulations, or compliance requirements.
• Exposure to construction products, manufacturing, or building systems is advantageous.
• Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar 3D design software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Interpret regulatory requirements and standards to develop compliant solutions.
• Manage product development projects from concept through to commercialisation.

This role is based in Wetherill Park and offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects that influence product performance, compliance, sustainability, and market growth.

About the Role

Reporting to the Insulation & Ventilation Innovation Manager, you'll play a key role in researching, designing, testing, and commercialising new building product solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams across Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Technical functions, you'll help bring innovative products from concept through to market launch.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, testing, validation, and implementation of new insulation and ventilation products and product improvements.
• Interpret regulatory requirements, Australian Standards, and industry trends to develop compliant and innovative solutions.
• Manage product development projects from concept through to commercialisation.
• Evaluate and qualify new materials, technologies, and suppliers to improve performance, efficiency, and cost competitiveness.
• Conduct product testing, prototyping, trials, and performance assessments.

About You

You are an innovative engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and turning ideas into commercially successful products. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are comfortable managing projects while engaging with a broad range of stakeholders.

You'll bring:

• Degree qualifications in Mechanical, Structural, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in new product development or product engineering.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience interpreting technical standards, regulations, or compliance requirements.
• Exposure to construction products, manufacturing, or building systems will be highly regarded.
• Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 3D design software is advantageous.
