Job description

Product Developer – Salty Crew
About Globe International

Globe International is a global producer and distributor of apparel, footwear and skateboard hardgoods across boardsports, street fashion, outdoor and workwear.

Founded in 1985 and listed on the ASX, Globe's portfolio includes brands such as Globe, Salty Crew, Xlarge, Thrasher, SDOUBLE and FXD Workwear. With offices and distribution centres across Australia, the US, Europe and Asia, Globe offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and globally connected business.

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Developer to join the Salty Crew team and play a key role in developing, launching and growing the product range across e-commerce and wholesale.

This is a hands‑on, commercially focused role for someone who understands the full product lifecycle and, importantly, understands how product needs to perform in an e-commerce and direct‑to‑consumer environment.

You will work closely with the National Sales Manager – Surf, US‑based Salty Crew Head Office, suppliers and the Australian e‑commerce team to take products from concept through development, production and launch.

The ideal candidate is commercially minded, organised, creative and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple products and projects.

Key Responsibilities
Product Development
  • Manage products from concept through sampling, development, production and launch.
  • Work with suppliers to deliver products that meet brand, quality and cost requirements.
  • Manage samples, revisions, approvals and product specifications.
  • Assist with range planning and seasonal product development.
  • Use sales and customer feedback to identify opportunities to improve and develop products.
E‑Commerce

E-commerce is a major focus of this role.

  • Own the online product range and ensure products are presented effectively.
  • Work with e-commerce and marketing teams on product launches and campaigns.
  • Manage product information, descriptions, specifications, pricing and merchandising.
  • Analyse online sales, conversion and customer behaviour to identify opportunities.
  • Use e-commerce data and customer feedback to influence future product development.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product presentation and online conversion.
Wholesale
  • Work closely with the National Sales Manager – Surf and wholesale team.
  • Understand retailer and market requirements and use feedback to influence product development.
  • Assist with wholesale range planning, presentations and launches.
  • Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure products meet commercial, margin and pricing requirements.
Market & Commercial
  • Monitor competitors, market trends and customer behaviour.
  • Identify product gaps and new opportunities.
  • Analyse wholesale and e‑commerce sales performance.
  • Identify high‑performing and underperforming products and recommend action.
  • Assist with forecasting, costing and initial order quantities.
  • Balance brand, customer demand and commercial performance.
About You

We're looking for someone with solid product development experience and a strong understanding of e-commerce.

Ideally, you will have:

  • 2–5 years' product development experience, preferably within an e-commerce or DTC‑focused brand.
  • Experience working with manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce and online customer behaviour.
  • Experience analysing e-commerce sales and product performance.
  • Commercial understanding of pricing, margins and product profitability.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • A good eye for product, design and brand presentation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach with the ability to take ownership.
  • Experience in Surf, Outdoor or Performance apparel would be advantageous.
What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means developing products that customers want, retailers want to buy and the business can make money from.

You will help Salty Crew:

  • Develop commercially successful products.
  • Grow e‑commerce sales and conversion.
  • Improve product performance.
  • Identify new product opportunities.
  • Maintain healthy margins.
  • Deliver products on time and to a high standard.
The Opportunity

This role is about bridging the gap between Product Development and E‑Commerce.

You will be expected to think beyond simply developing a product and ask:

Will our online customers want it?

How will we sell and market it online?

What does the data tell us?

Is the pricing and margin right?

If you're a commercially minded Product Developer who wants genuine ownership and influence over the product range, this is an opportunity to play an important role in the continued growth of Salty Crew.
