Job summary

Central Highlands Regional Council in Emerald, QLD is offering a 24-month full-time trainee role within the Procurement & Legal team. The program combines hands-on data management and policy administration with formal training toward a Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracts.

The role supports procurement activities, governance, and contract processes, with a focus on compliant practices and professional development in a regional council setting near home.

Qualifications

• Be prepared to learn procurement processes, data management, and contract administration.
• Willingness to complete a Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracts.
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining procurement records and data accurately and timely.
• Support analysis and reporting of procurement information.
• Assist in preparing procurement-related reports and documentation.
• Support review and maintenance of procurement policies, procedures, and templates.
• Learn and apply procurement and contract management principles.
• Ensure procurement activities adhere to CHRC policies and internal controls.
• Provide administrative support to procurement and contract processes.
