Job summary

Central Highlands Regional Council in Emerald, Queensland, seeks a motivated trainee to join the Resource Recovery team. This Maximum Term Full Time role offers paid work while pursuing a Certificate III in Waste Management.

You will assist with landfill operations, customer service, and learning plant operation on-site in an outdoor environment, with a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Commitment to safety and following instructions.
• Interest in waste management and environmental sustainability.
• Willingness to obtain White Card if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the day-to-day operation of CHRC's resource recovery and landfill facilities.
• Providing customer service and assisting members of the public using waste facilities.
• Learning to operate plant and equipment under supervision.
• Supporting site maintenance and housekeeping activities.
• Assisting with waste disposal, recycling and resource recovery processes.
• Monitoring site safety and environmental compliance requirements.
