Job summary

Simply Tasty – Salads & Ready Meals Manufacturing in Bendigo, Victoria is seeking a proactive Purchasing / Procurement Officer to join our growing team. You will coordinate purchasing of raw ingredients, packaging materials and supplies to support our daily production operations.

Reporting to management, you will build strong supplier relationships, obtain quotes, raise purchase orders and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain coordination.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Attention to detail and accurate data entry.
• Good computer skills and ERP/purchasing software experience.
• Ability to analyze pricing and stock usage.
• Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Team collaboration across production, warehouse and office.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing and procurement of raw ingredients, packaging materials and general supplies.
• Coordinate purchasing with production and operations to ensure materials are available.
• Monitor stock levels, usage and future requirements to minimize shortages and excess stock.
• Raise and manage purchase orders with pricing, quantities and delivery dates.
• Source new suppliers, obtain quotes and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, pricing and delivery schedules.
• Maintain purchasing records and supplier information.
• Assist with cost control and waste reduction.
