Job summary

Downer is seeking a Purchasing Officer in Maryborough, QLD to join our high-performing procurement team. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will manage procurement activities across QLD projects, ensuring on-time purchasing aligned with milestones and stakeholder requirements.

The role requires 2–5 years in procurement, a qualification in procurement or related fields, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years relevant experience in procurement, purchasing or buying, preferably within major construction projects
• Qualifications in procurement, supply chain, logistics or admin highly desirable
• Commercially astute, with the ability to influence and negotiate
• Strong communication skills and collaborative approach to work

Responsibilities

• Ensuring purchasing is initiated on time & in line with project milestones & stakeholder requirements
• Liaison/stakeholder engagement with associated teams and management
• Ensuring governance of supply systems, ensuring purchasing is executed through approved suppliers, and supplier system attributes are proactively maintained
• Reviewing and evaluating technical work
