Job summary

Advanced Design Technology (ADT) is seeking a proactive Procurement Officer to manage end-to-end procurement, supplier engagement and records for projects and the organisation. The role is permanent and based in Fyshwick, Canberra, with relocation support within Australia for the right candidate.

You will coordinate sourcing, purchasing administration, inventory support and policy implementation, drawing on a minimum of two years in procurement.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years in procurement, purchasing, supply chain coordination or a similar commercial support role.
  • Experience in electronic components is highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise with suppliers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end procurement from purchasing through to receipt of goods and services.
  • Record management of purchasing and pricing activities.
  • Management of product, part and component inventories; supplier onboarding and risk assessment.
  • Support for RFP, RFQ and other proposal activities.
  • Upholding secure supply chain management practices and stakeholder engagement.

To support our rapidly expanding business, we are seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised, experienced and proactive Procurement Officer with demonstrated experience in procurement, purchasing and supplier coordination. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role will support the efficient sourcing and purchasing of products and services for projects and the broader organisation, including purchase order facilitation, supplier engagement, inventory support, proposal inputs, accurate record keeping and implementation of procurement policies.

This is a permanent position based in Fyshwick, Canberra. ADT may consider supporting relocation within Australia for the right candidate.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must have the right to live and work in Australia. Applicants are also required to either hold, or be eligible for an NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end procurement, from purchasing through to receipt of goods and services on behalf of the Organisation.
  • Continuous improvement and implementation of procurement best practices including:
    • Record management of purchasing and pricing activities
    • Management of product, part and component inventories
    • Supplier and Manufacturer onboarding and risk assessment activities
  • Providing support to RFP, RFQ and other proposal activities
  • Upholding secure supply chain management practices
  • Engagement with stakeholders, both internal and external to the Organisation, including suppliers.
The Person

The successful candidate will bring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing procurement priorities with accuracy and efficiency, while maintaining clear records and supporting compliant procurement outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring a combination of the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain coordination or a similar commercial support role, experience in electronic components will be highly regarded.
  • Sound understanding of procurement processes, including sourcing, supplier engagement, quotations, purchase orders and purchasing administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing purchasing priorities, follow suppliers and internal stakeholders, and maintain accuracy under time pressure.
  • Experience maintaining accurate procurement documentation, including purchase records, pricing information, supplier details, inventory records and supporting correspondence.
  • Strong initiative, sound judgement and the ability to identify and resolve procurement or supply issues in a practical and timely manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with suppliers, project teams and internal stakeholders.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting proposal activity, cost inputs or supplier pricing requests would be highly regarded.
  • Experience working in Defence would be highly regarded.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word and SharePoint. Experience with D365 or similar procurement, finance or project systems would be an advantage.
