Job summary

Farmbot Monitoring Solutions seeks a Procurement Manager to optimise sourcing, cost and supplier management across Australia and the US. You will handle purchasing, planning and cross-border components for our Texas contract manufacturer, negotiating terms and securing timely delivery.

You will build strong relationships with domestic and overseas suppliers, particularly in Asia, to ensure best landed costs and alignment with production schedules.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of procurement experience in electronics, OEM or a similar environment.
• Experience importing goods from Asia with overseas supplier negotiation.
• Knowledge of international freight requirements and logistics.
• Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement plans, budgets and cash flow forecasts with Production and Finance.
• Drive negotiations of pricing and payment terms with suppliers.
• Purchase raw materials to support manufacturing, raise POs and ensure on-time delivery.
• Manage international import/export for our Texas contract manufacturer with best landed cost.
• Oversee delivery and scheduling of components to meet production needs.
• Manage other procurement activities for Australian and US operations.
• Serve as main point of contact for supplier communications, including overseas questions.
• Identify cost saving and process improvement opportunities and implement them.
• Contribute to regular business planning and reporting.
• Support warehousing and RMA processes with suppliers as required.

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Procurement Manager, you will ensure efficient material sourcing, cost optimisation and supplier management across our manufacturing and business operations in Australia and the United States. You will own purchasing, planning and supplier communication, including the international import and export of raw components for our contract manufacturer in Texas.

Negotiating price and terms will be a fundamental part of the role, and you will build strong working relationships with domestic and overseas suppliers, particularly in Asia. Working closely with our Production and Finance teams, you will make sure the right materials arrive at the right place on time and at the best possible landed cost.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop procurement plans, budgets and cash flow forecasts in coordination with the Production and Finance teams.
• Drive negotiations of pricing and payment terms with suppliers.
• Purchase raw materials to support manufacturing, including raising accurate purchase orders and following up to ensure goods are delivered to the correct destinations.
• Manage the international import and export of raw components for our contract manufacturer in Texas, securing the best possible pricing and landed cost while ensuring timely and compliant delivery.
• Oversee the delivery and correct scheduling of components, ensuring materials arrive at the right location on time to meet production requirements.
• Manage other supply-related purchasing, including administrative and operational purchasing for our Australian and US companies.
• Serve as Farmbot's main point of contact for supplier communications, providing prompt replies to questions raised by domestic and international suppliers.
• Identify cost saving, process improvement and quality improvement opportunities, and take action to implement them.
• Contribute to regular business planning and reporting activities.
• Support warehousing activities as required, including receiving incoming goods and putting away stock.
• Support the RMA process with suppliers for defective or out-of-spec material.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, ideally in electronics, OEM or a similar environment.
• Experience importing goods from Asia, with excellent negotiation and communication skills when dealing with overseas suppliers.
• Knowledge of international freight requirements and logistics experience.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel/Google Sheets, and capable of using complex formulas and conducting in-depth spreadsheet analysis.
• Familiar with industry standard ERP/MRP systems.

• Accuracy of purchase orders, procurement plans and forecasts.
• Strong, responsive supplier relationships, with issues and RMAs resolved promptly.
• Compliant, cost-effective import and export of components for our Texas contract manufacturer.

LOCATION & SCHEDULE

The role will be based at our Sydney office and may require occasional travel to the United States.
