Job summary

Kaiser Reef Limited leads the Maldon Gold Project and is seeking an experienced process-plant leader in Central Victoria. You will oversee the end-to-end operation of the processing plant, maximize gold recovery, and drive safety and compliance across the site.

The role requires strong metallurgy background, data analysis, and proven project management, with a focus on budgeting and scheduling in a residential Maldon setting.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Science degree in Metallurgy, Chemical, or Mineral Processing.
• Minimum 10 years minerals processing experience with leadership in gold processing.
• Strong metallurgical accounting, data analysis and advanced Excel skills.
• Proven project management including budgeting and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end management of the process plant operations.
• Provide technical leadership to maximise gold recovery and safety.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Drive cost control and stakeholder relationships, incl. regulators.

Role Type:Full-Time, Permanent 76-hour Fortnight

This residential role is located in the heart of Central Victoria, in the historic town of Maldon offering a relaxed regional lifestyle. The perfect blend of small-town charm and convenience situated less than a 30-minute drive from the regional hub of Bendigo and a 1 hour and 40-minute drive from Melbourne's city centre.

The Maldon Gold Project in Victoria’s Golden Triangle provides strategic growth optionality, anchored by a fully permitted 200ktpa CIL processing facility and a 187koz resource at 4.4g/t Au.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the General Manager Maldon Gold Project this is a high-visibility, hands-on leadership role accountable for the end-to-end management of the Process plant. You will provide technical leadership and oversight to maximise gold recovery, cost control and drive onsite safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure effective process control and optimisation to maximise throughput, gold recovery and overall plant efficiency.


• Provide technical direction and communication with production teams to ensure the correct implementation of operating strategies.


• Manage the Life of Mine Tailings Strategy and work to achieve and maintain compliance withANCOLDstandards.


• Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, and manage relationships with external stakeholders including Resources Victoria and the EPA.


• Provide leadership in safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence, fostering a strong safety culture within the team.

ABOUT YOU

A tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science (Metallurgy, Chemical, Mineral Processing)

Minimum 10 years of minerals processing experience with demonstrated leadership in gold processing.

Skilled in metallurgical accounting, data analysis and advanced excel use.

Proven project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and contract management.

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a diverse team.

Strong knowledge of Australian mining and processing regulations, WHS, and environmental compliance requirements.

A strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship

Desirable (not essential) experience that you may have.

Certificate IV in Frontline management or greater

Lean Methodology and Green Belt Six Sigma or equivalent

Member of AusIMM or Engineers Australia

Practical experience using advanced plant automation, SCADA/DCS systems, and modern instrumentation to optimise circuit performance.
