Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a hands-on manufacturing professional to join our workshop team. You will contribute to the assembly and fabrication of roller shutters and related door types, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety practices on every job.

The role requires practical experience with hand-held and powered tools, plus the ability to follow detailed production orders and procedures. You will also help train junior staff and maintain equipment and work areas to a high standard.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in manufacturing or fabrication.
  • Experience in manufacturing and fabrication highly regarded.
  • Ability to manufacture and assemble roller shutters or other door types according to detail sheets and supervisor direction.
  • Ability to locate, pull, and verify materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Welding experience for frames and guides for counterweight doors.
  • General roller shutter assembly skills.
  • Ability to use hand-held tools such as chisels, saws, and hammers.
  • Ability to operate powered hand-held tools such as drills, routers, sanders, and grinders.
  • Ability to operate or assist with other powered workshop machinery.
  • Willingness to complete online psychometric testing and medical assessments if requested.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all work assigned by a nominated Production Manager or Leading Hand within reasonable timeframes and to a high quality standard.
  • Follow established standard manufacturing procedures and safe operating procedures.
  • Participate in manufacturing and assembly of roller shutters and other door types.
  • Pull and verify materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Load and unload vehicles and trucks; carry and move goods.
  • Weld frames and guides for counterweight doors.
  • Perform general assembly of roller shutters.
  • Use hand-held and powered hand-held tools.
  • Operate or assist with powered workshop machinery.
  • Perform basic daily and weekly maintenance on workshop machinery.
  • Clean and maintain work areas.
  • Train less-experienced staff in standard manufacturing procedures.
  • Maintain quality control according to established QC procedures.
  • Willingness to complete online psychometric testing, medical assessments including Alcohol & Other Drug testing if requested.
  • Updated CV/Resume required.
