Job summary

Jobtailor in Melbourne, VIC is offering an apprenticeship for aspiring heavy equipment technicians. You will enroll in a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology and work across earthmoving equipment used in construction and civil projects.

You will assist qualified technicians with inspection, maintenance, and repair, learn to diagnose faults in mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems, and complete required trade school training while maintaining training records.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in, or committed to completing, a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology.
• Genuine interest in mechanical equipment, heavy machinery, and developing a long-term trade career
• Strong literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills
• Ability to complete training and workplace documentation
• Ability to safely use hand tools and follow workplace safety procedures
• Willingness to learn new technical skills through structured training, on-the-job experience, and trade school attendance
• Reliable, motivated, and team-oriented
• Positive attitude and commitment to personal and professional development
• Successful candidates progressing past interview stage must undergo National Police Clearance and Medical Screening, including drug and alcohol testing
