Job summary

Inghams Chickens in Somerville, VIC is seeking motivated casual Process Workers to join our processing team. The role focuses on handling raw chicken products in a fast-paced, supportive environment with consistent hours and potential for future permanency.

You’ll work as part of a close-knit team on the processing floor, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork in a major Australian food manufacturer.

Qualifications

• Able to perform repetitive tasks safely and efficiently.
• Strong communication skills, written and spoken.
• Physically capable to lift up to 15 kg and stand for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• De-bone and process raw chicken products safely and according to quality specifications.
• Process and inspect raw materials safely and according to quality specifications.
• Perform processing tasks efficiently and work to meet individual and group targets.
• Complete manual handling duties including lifting, pulling, pushing, bending and reaching.
• Follow safety rules, speak up, and be mindful of risks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work space in a cold environment.

We are currently seeking motivated and reliable Casual Process Workers to join our team - Both Morning and Afternoon shifts available. This is a fantastic opportunity to get your foot in the door with one of Australia's most iconic food manufacturers and build a career in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

As a Process Worker, you will play a hands-on role in our day-to-day production operations, helping ensure our products meet the high standards our customers expect. The main work involves handling raw chicken products, and you'll work as part of a close-knit team across the processing floor.

Daily Tasks

• Work with raw meat products in a cold environment
• Store and maintain materials, equipment, and tools

You will bring to this role

• Capability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently, correctly, and systematically in accordance with policies and standards
• To be able to successfully communicate both written and verbal
• Ability to respond calmly and methodically when faced with obstacles
• A good level of fitness is required as you will manually handle up to 15kg
• Experience in the meat and food industry will be highly regarded
• Knife skills and boning experience will be highly regarded
