Job summary

Inghams Chickens based in Thomastown is hiring for a Machine Operator to support our daily production on the Thomastown site. You will operate robotic palletising and packaging equipment and monitor lines to ensure quality and efficiency.

We offer on-site parking, immediate start, consistent hours and uniforms. Candidates should be physically capable, able to lift 5–15 kg, and work well in a team. This is a Monday to Friday role with Saturday on request.

Qualifications

• Previous Machine Operator experience in an FMCG environment
• Ability to understand and follow instructions and procedures
• Physically fit, able to repetitively lift 5–15 kg
• Good teamwork and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Operate robotic palletising system on production line
• Set up, run and monitor production line equipment
• Ensure product specs (weight, shape, size) meet targets
• Complete process control sheets with accurate measurements
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of self and work area
• Identify and escalate food safety and quality issues

Our Further Processing facility based in Thomastown operates Monday to Friday and Saturday on request. We currently have openings on both Dayshift and Afternoon Shift. We are also looking for people who are flexible to cover various shifts and weekend work as and when the need arises in order to support the team.

Daily Tasks

• Operate robotic palletising system
• Ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment, particularly when setting up and when product change overs are required
• Operate Robotic pick and place system, Baggers, Case erector equipment and box forming equipment
• Set up, operate, and monitor production line equipment
• Execute production plans and manage shop orders efficiently
• Monitor product specifications including weight, shape, and size
• Complete process control sheets with accurate measurements
• Perform real-time scanning and documentation of products and ingredients
• Maintaining a high level of personal hygiene
• Storing and maintaining materials, equipment and tools
• Identifying and escalating Food Safety & Quality issues, hazards and risks.

You will bring to this role

• Previous Machine Operator experience preferably in an FMCG environment.
• Understand and follow instructions and procedures
• Work well within a team environment
• Communicate well both written and verbally
• Showing commitment, reliability and motivation
• Respond calmly when faced with obstacles
• Physically fit and repetitively lift 5kg-15kg
• Flexibility to cover various shifts when required
