Job summary

The Midfield Group is seeking a Process Engineer to drive improvements across our manufacturing and processing operations. You will focus on optimiser production, reduce waste and enhance quality while supporting day-to-day operational issues.

Responsibilities include leading root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with maintenance, quality and projects to boost plant reliability and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in process, chemical, mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • Experience as a Process Engineer or in a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in process improvement, problem solving and operational optimisation.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety, quality and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Improve and optimise production processes to increase efficiency, throughput, quality and reduce waste.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance metrics (output, downtime, yield, OEE) to identify improvements.
  • Support production teams with process troubleshooting and day-to-day operational issues.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and problem-solving tools.
  • Support commissioning and optimisation of new equipment and process changes.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation and control procedures.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, Quality and Projects to improve plant performance and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety (HACCP), quality, WHS and environmental standards.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations to support operational decisions.

We are currently seeking a Process Engineer who will play a pivotal role in improving manufacturing and processing performance through process optimisation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives across The Midfield Group.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Improve and optimise production processes to increase efficiency, throughput, quality, and reduce waste

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
  • Degree qualification in Engineering (Process, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline)
  • Experience in a Process Engineer or similar role within manufacturing, food processing, FMCG, or industrial environments
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, problem solving, and operational optimisation
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement practices
