Job summary

MPAU Manufacturing is seeking a Process Engineer, Extrusion to Reel, to lead process engineering across the operation, ensuring safety, GMP compliance and cost-effective manufacturing performance. You will collaborate with Production, Engineering and Maintenance to reduce variability and support capital and improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in GMP regulated or FMCG environments.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge (or electrical).
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in process engineering for a manufacturing site.

Responsibilities

  • Establish operating windows and process conditions for optimal quality.
  • Capture and share process knowledge via procedures and practices.
  • Drive cost reductions through loss analysis, speed, quality, and equipment availability improvements.
  • Provide technical, engineering and maintenance support to production teams.
  • Support R&D, capital, maintenance and reliability projects including CAPEX submissions.
  • Apply RCA, A3, Lean and Six Sigma to reduce variability and improve performance.
  • Manage supplier and contractor relationships per site procedures and standards.
  • Promote safety, GMP compliance, professionalism and engineering excellence.

Job description

This role leads process engineering activities across the Extrusion to Reel operation, ensuring safe, compliant and cost effective manufacturing performance. You will partner closely with Production, Engineering and Maintenance teams to reduce variability, improve reliability and support ongoing capital and improvement projects.

Description

The Process Engineer, Extrusion to Reel is responsible for leading process engineering within their area to meet safety, GMP, quality and cost targets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining robust operating windows and process conditions to achieve optimal product quality.
  • Capturing, standardising and sharing process knowledge through effective procedures and working practices.
  • Driving reductions in manufacturing costs through loss analysis, speed improvements, quality enhancement and increased equipment availability.
  • Providing technical, engineering and maintenance support to production teams.
  • Supporting R&D, capital, maintenance and reliability projects, including preparation of CAPEX submissions.
  • Applying structured problem solving methodologies such as RCA, A3, Lean and Six Sigma to reduce process variability and improve performance.
  • Managing supplier and contractor relationships in line with site procedures and engineering standards.
  • Promoting a strong culture of safety, GMP compliance, professionalism and engineering excellence.
Profile

A successful Process Engineer MUST have:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in GMP regulated or FMCG environments.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge (or electrical)
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies.
  • Previous experince in process engineering for a manufacturing site.
