Job summary

CSR Limited is seeking a Process Engineer to drive World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and continuous improvement across our Interior Systems operations in Brisbane. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering and Procurement to deliver measurable outcomes and lead transformation initiatives.

You will embed Lean principles, analyse data to identify opportunities, and mentor teams to sustain gains while supporting capital projects and equipment upgrades.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Electrical, Mechatronics or similar).
• Experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, mining or related industrial environment.
• Exposure to World Class Manufacturing (WCM) frameworks and methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement incl. 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and RCA.
• Experience leading process improvement initiatives and operational change projects.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and maturity of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives across multiple sites.
• Identify and prioritise improvement opportunities through data analysis and process evaluation.
• Deliver CI projects to boost productivity, efficiency, quality and cost performance.
• Act as a link between site operations and the WCM Centre of Excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive engagement and sustainable change.
• Support major capital projects, plant upgrades and manufacturing optimisation.
• Embed Lean principles into daily operations, monitoring sustained benefits.
• Coach operational teams in Lean tools and problem-solving methodologies.

We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Process Engineer to join our Interior Systems business based at Coopers Plains. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our World Class Manufacturing (WCM) journey, identifying improvement opportunities, leading transformation initiatives and delivering measurable outcomes across our operations

About the Role

As Process Engineer you will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering and Procurement teams to drive continuous improvement outcomes across multiple manufacturing sites

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and ongoing maturity of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives across multiple sites
• Identify, analyse and prioritise operational improvement opportunities through data analysis and process evaluation
• Deliver continuous improvement projects that enhance productivity, efficiency, quality and cost performance
• Act as the key link between site operations and the WCM Centre of Excellence, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive engagement, accountability and sustainable change
• Support major capital projects, manufacturing optimisation initiatives and equipment upgrades
• Embed Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles into daily operations
• Monitor and sustain implemented improvements to ensure long-term business benefits are achieved
• Coach and develop operational teams in Lean tools, problem-solving techniques and continuous improvement methodologies

Essential Skills & Experience

• Degree-qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Electrical, Mechatronics or similar)
• Experience within manufacturing, heavy industry, mining or a related industrial environment
• Exposure to World Class Manufacturing (WCM) frameworks and methodologies
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies including 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and Root Cause Analysis
• Experience delivering process improvement initiatives and operational change projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and project management skills
• Ability to influence teams and drive sustainable behavioural and operational change
• Experience supporting capital projects, plant upgrades or manufacturing optimisation programs highly regarded
