Coronado Curragh is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to work on Curragh's two CHPPs near Blackwater, Queensland. You will collaborate with operators and maintenance teams to deliver process improvements, support operations, and own projects from investigation to implementation.
The role requires a tertiary engineering qualification and CHPP experience, with a practical mindset and strong communication. Relocation and housing assistance are provided to enable site-based work.
Curragh Mine, near Blackwater, is one of the largest open-cut coal mines in the Queensland Bowen Basin. It produces more than 12 million tonnes of coal per year through two Coal Handling and Preparation Plants (CHPPs).
Reporting to the Superintendent CHPP Production, you'll work to improve the performance of Curragh's two CHPPs. If you want to prove yourself as a process engineer, don't go looking for a good plant. Find a struggling one that needs improving. Both CHPPs are undergoing significant changes, including debottlenecking, cyclone resizing and flowsheet changes. You'll have the opportunity to test ideas and deliver real improvements. The focus is on real process engineering and solving plant problems, not excessive reporting, logistics or unnecessary administration.
Your role will include:
If you want to put your process engineering skills to the test, help turn around a challenging operation and have some great stories to share at your next ACPS event, this is your opportunity.
We're looking for a hands-on Process Engineer who enjoys working with operators and solving problems in the plant.
