Job summary

The University of Sydney is seeking a Privacy Advisor to join the ARMS privacy team. You will assess privacy enquiries, provide guidance on relevant legislation, and manage information access requests under PPIP and HRIP acts.

The role involves developing practical resources, supporting privacy impact assessments, and promoting Privacy by Design across projects and processes. Hybrid work options are available, with a base salary from AU$131,108 plus 17% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing privacy programs in large, multi-facet organisations.
• Ability to draft high-level policy and guidance docs.
• Strong understanding of privacy legislation and governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage incoming privacy enquiries and requests from stakeholders.
• Provide timely, practical advice on privacy legislation and compliance.
• Manage internal reviews and information access requests under PPIP Act and HRIP Act.
• Assist Senior Privacy Specialists with privacy impact assessments.
• Develop privacy resources and guidance for staff; contribute to training.
• Support Privacy by Design implementation and create tools to mitigate privacy risks.
