Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC in Melbourne is seeking a Clinician for the Prison Disability Support Initiative to provide clinical services to people in custody with cognitive impairment and complex needs. You will manage caseloads, develop positive behaviour support plans, and coordinate access to assessments and tailored interventions within Corrections Victoria.

The role is based at 50 Franklin Street with regular travel to metropolitan prisons and occasional regional

Qualifications

• Experience in disability sector and/or criminal justice settings.
• Experience administering psychometric tools to assess cognitive functioning, mood, personality and functional capacity.
• Experience conducting functional behaviour analysis and developing tailored treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to people in Victorian prisons in line with PDSI service delivery.
• Manage a caseload and facilitate access to clinical assessments.
• Develop positive behaviour support plans and other tailored interventions.
• Identify disability-related needs and make informed recommendations and referrals.
• Support people with suspected or confirmed cognitive impairment and complex presentations.
